The overall objective of MeCCAM is to develop, implement and recommend climate mitigation and adaptation solutions and increase the resilience and sustainability in the fisheries sector . MeCCAM employs an integrated multi-actor approach to deliver relevant and feasible results to support the fishing industry and policymakers. ICES is leading the work on stakeholder outreach and training, which includes identifying needs and insights of key stakeholders and end-users, interacting with them on the project prototypes, and designing training material that will facilitate the transfer of MeCCAM´s results. ICES is also contributing to improve the adaptive capacity of fisheries by developing protypes for climate-informed fisheries advice.

OCCAM has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe reserach and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101181571.
