Fisheries overviews at your fingertips. fisheriesXplorer is our latest Xplorer app for discovering how fishing activities are characterized in each ICES ecoregion, providing crucial context for ecosystem-based fisheries management

The app is based on the fisheries overviews, which summarize the key information about fishing activities and the effects of fishing on the ecosystem—who catches what, how discards and bycatch are quantified, which fishing methods are used, how fleets interact and how combined fishing pressures influence stock status across an ecoregion. The app turns this material into live, navigable visuals and downloadable datasets, replacing the former document overviews.

Connected via APIs to ICES databases and services, fisheriesXplorer always reflects the latest, FAIR-aligned data (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
