Climate-driven changes in marine ecosystems are accelerating the need for adaptive and forward-looking fisheries advice. At the same time, there is growing recognition that advice will only be effective if it is co-developed with those who use it. This session explores how climate information, scientific models, and stakeholder knowledge can be integrated to produce robust and actionable management advice.
We invite contributions that showcase tools, frameworks, and real-world experiences in:
- Using Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) approaches that consider climate drivers.
- Exploring how fishing fleets might respond (spatially and temporally) to climate-driven shifts in species distribution and resource availability.
- Bridging outputs from tactical, seasonal, and decadal-scale models to develop 'climate-smart' harvest control rules.
- Applying co-design and participatory methods to enhance the uptake, usability, and legitimacy of science-based advice.
We particularly encourage submissions that address diverse geographic regions and governance scales, from local to international.
By learning from both successes and limitations, the session will support the development of a more robust foundation for adaptive, climate-responsive fisheries advice that meets the challenges of a changing ocean.
