This year at the ICES Annual Science Conference in France — the heart of global fashion — we're bringing science to the runway in a networking session like no other. The ICES Catwalk: Strutting Science, Style, and Sustainability transforms our community members into models, celebrating the people behind the science in a vibrant, creative, and meaningful way.
Celebrated models from modelling agencies The Secretariat, Leadership and Community, like Carl O’Brien, Marie-Julie Roux, Dave Reid, Marta Ferraro, Colm Lordan, Neil Holdsworth, Silvana Birchenough and Celine Byrne (all confirmed), will walk the catwalk wearing marine-themed outfits that reflect their work, passion, or connection to the ocean. From shimmering shoals to benthic beauty, these outfits symbolize the diverse disciplines that make up the ICES network. As they strut, models and their role within ICES will be introduced by our Master of Ceremonies, showcasing not just fashion — but function, purpose, and personality.
#Fintage, the sustainable marine fashion upcycle pop-up at ICES since 2022, has co-designed all marine-themed outfits for the show. The pieces will be auctioned for charity in support of ocean conservation — blending fashion and science in a bold statement for sustainability.
