Project objectives:
The 'Pan-European infrastructure for ocean and marine data management' (SEADATANET II) project provides a European-wide infrastructure to manage large and diverse data sets from in situ observations of the seas and oceans.

The project provides also the European contribution to global initiatives such as the Ocean Data portal (ODP) and the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). SEADATANET II aims to achieve compliance with the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE) process for developing rules of implementation for oceanography.
