10-12 October 2018
ICES Headquarters
Copenhagen, Denmark
This workshop will bring together science, management, and industry experts from a wide range of disciplines across the three AORA jurisdictions: Canada, European Union, and the United States.
Over two and a half days, participants will be invited to contribute to the development of a series of linked matrices that map the relationships between ocean sectors, stressors and pressures (including positive) from those sectors, and the influence of those relationships on the benefits, or ecosystem goods and services, the oceans provide. The output will be a framework to help evaluate the state of the ocean ecosystem to support ecosystem goods and services, and to identify priorities for science and management. This will be captured in a report for AORA, as well as a manuscript for a peer-reviewed publication.
The workshop is organised by AORA Coordination and Support Action (AORA-CSA), which assists the AORA Working Groups, and supported by Work Package 4 Ecosystem Approach to Ocean Health & Stressors of the AORA-CSA, led by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).
