We will start our adventure in Biscay with a short photostop in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a spot that can only be described as amazing. It is a hermitage located in the middle of the sea and which can only be accessed by climbing a set of 231 steps, and which is probably the most famous print of the Basque coast, especially since the shooting of the HBO super production Game of Thrones.
From there, we will drive to
Bermeo. Bermeo is a fishing village with a unique personality and charm. We will discover its cultural heritage on a walking tour, spotting the monument by
Nestor Basterretxea honoring
Benito Barrueta, as well as the Museum of the Fisherman, and a casino with French palace appearance. Here we will enjoy the Neskatilla experience = Repair fishing nets
Next, we will get to
Gernika where we will have the lunch and we will visit the House of Meetings of the Lordship of Biscay, with its symbolic oak tree, under which the Basques used to gather and decide on the interests of the community. We will also get to know the mural of Picasso’s famous painting “
El Guernica”
