We will start the activity with the guided tour of the Old Town, popularly known as the Seven Streets. This is the usual gathering place for groups of “txikiteros”. Our walk will cover the Arenal, the church of St. Nicolás, the Plaza Nueva, the Unamuno square, the Santos Juanes church, the market of La Ribera, the Santiago Cathedral and the Arriaga theatre, all of them being visited from outside.
After the old town tour, we will continue with the visit of the town on foot, following the site of the ria. It is a pleasant and very entertaining walk, it allows to discover the enormous transformation experienced by the city until
Guggenheim Museum. Designed by the North American Frank O. Gehry, the avant-garde architecture of the building is a magnificent way to present masterpieces of modern and contemporary art. Since its inauguration in 1997, the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum and the Puppy dog (the floral sculpture by Jeff Koons located outside the building) have become the most international symbol of Bilbao.
