Regional DataBase and Estimation System (RDBES)

Commercial catch data collected on board commercial fishing vessels and at port.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ICES fish stock assessment expert groups use the Regional Database and Estimation System (​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​RDBES) to support fish stock advice for EU and non-EU countries and to collate and define regional sampling strategies.

Governance

The Working Group on Governance of the Regional Database & Estimation System (WGRDBESGOV) comprises regional fisheries managers, national fisheries experts, ICES Secretariat, and European Commission representatives. WGRDBESGOV oversees the strategic priorities of the system according to the needs of the stakeholders. The RDBES Core Group is responsible for operational development and reports to WGRDBESGOV.
