Scientific symposia are a cornerstone of progress in marine science, offering vibrant platforms for experts to connect, collaborate, and innovate. These gatherings spark the exchange of cutting-edge research, address global challenges, and inspire solutions that advance knowledge and practice in the field. Each year, ICES actively supports scientific symposia that align with our mission to develop and share expertise critical to marine science and sustainable ocean management.
We now welcome proposals for co-sponsorship of symposia scheduled for 2026 and 2027. These events should align with topics outlined in our Science Plan, Strategic Plan, and/or Advisory Plan. If you're planning a symposium that fits this scope, we encourage you to apply and join us in shaping the future of marine science.
How to apply
Begin by contacting our symposia coordinator with a brief summary (1-2 lines) of your symposium's scope to request a resolution form. Use the to prepare your proposal and submit it to ICES Secretariat by 1 February 2025.
Proposals will be reviewed and approved by the Science Committee (SCICOM) at its March 2025 meeting.
