ICES provides scientific advice on ecosystem services and effects to governments and international regulatory bodies that manage the North Atlantic Ocean and adjacent seas. The key advice values and catch scenarios from fishing opportunity advice sheets that are published in the ICES library can be accessed on this page.
You can search for our advice by species, ecoregion or advice requester. The database includes past, present and future advice and can be filtered in this way. Links are available to the individual ICES advice sheets, which at present remain the official format for ICES advice.
ICES Advice Groups
ICES experts can upload advice values and catch scenarios tables and edit advice records in the Manage page (login required).
Usage and Citation
Data from published advice can be downloaded, please refer to ICES Data Policy for full conditions and guidance on citation. When publishing results from the database the minimum citation should include:
