Operational Evaluation Tools for Fisheries Management Options

EFIMAS developed a robust framework within which to simulate and evaluate the biological and socio-economic consequences of a range of fishery management options and objectives. The project:

Used models that run stochastic simulations incorporating data from selected EU fisheries
Compared range of management options generated with the current management of the test fisheries
Compared the performance of a range of management options under alternative management systems and objectives

Since January 2008, the Danish Institute for Fisheries Research DIFRES has changed its name to DTU Aqua, National Institute of Aquatic Resources.
