Venue information
The venue, Gullmarsstrand Hotel and Conference in Fiskebäckskil, is beautifully situated on the seafront at the mouth of the Gullmarn fjord. These are historical grounds for both fishing and marine science. Already in the 16th century, during the thriving herring fishing, a fishing community was established in Fiskebäckskil. It later evolved into a prosperous shipping community, and is now a picturesque seaside resort.
Ten minutes walk to the west you find one of the oldest marine research stations in the world, Kristineberg, founded in 1877. Across the bay is Klubban Biological Station of Uppsala University, founded in 1915. The Gullmarn fjord is Sweden's first marine conservation area. The surroundings are popular for both national and international visitors; a beautiful coast and archipelago with smooth granite rocks, and a rich cultural and historical heritage.
Conveniently, all the presentations, poster session, accommodation, coffee breaks and meals will be at the venue – a compact event!
