Theme session E will examine the changes in governance systems, including institutional and legal dimensions that are currently leading to greater integration across the different sectoral components of ocean policy, and the likely implications of these changes for integrated assessment needs. More generally it will consider the role that institutional structures play in the dynamics of socio-ecological systems.
