This theme session will consider the challenges associated with the identification of adequate indicators, decision criteria, and performance evaluation methods that enable full inclusion of the social and economic dimensions in integrated assessments of the status of marine social-ecological systems.
It will also examine the methods which allow capturing values and assessing the trade-offs associated with alternative scenarios and management strategies. Data needs for such evaluations will also be considered.
