How to nominate

Nominations for 2020 awards are closed.

​​​​​​​​​​​There are two stages to the process. Firstly, the nominations require a name, title, and a few sentences about the person you are nominating. The second stage occurs after the deadline  when the Awards Committee will ask the nominator to submit more detailed supporting material about their candidate (nomination letter, CV, list of publications, and letters of support).

Prix d’Excellence
This award recognizes a scientist who has made substantial contributions to marine science. Candidates need not be active participants in ICES work or activities. ​Read more about the criteria for this award.

Outstanding Achievement Award
This annual award recognizes a member of the ICES community who has made ongoing important contributions to ICES in the field of marine science over a sustained period. Read more about the criteria for this award.
