There are two stages to the process.
First, nominations are made online. As a nominator, you will submit the candidate's name along with a few sentences describing why you have nominated them.
Following the 1 May deadline, the Awards Committee will ask the nominator to submit more detailed supporting material about their candidate (nomination letter, CV, list of publications, and letters of support). The deadline for contributing supporting material is 1 June. Please be aware that nominations lacking supporting material will not be considered in the final evaluation. The award ceremony takes place at ICES Annual Science Conference (ASC) in Bilbao in September 2023.
ICES awards recognize the diversity of the marine science community. We encourage nominations from groups currently underrepresented by our recognition programme, including women and those from underrepresented regions.
