On the shores of the Baltic Sea, the historic maritime hub of Klaipeda will serve as a fitting backdrop this September when the marine science community aggregates for ICES Annual Science Conference 2025. The Annual Science Conference (ASC) will take place from 15–18 September 2025 at Klaipeda University in the beautiful coastal city of Klaipeda, Lithuania. The Call for Abstracts has opened and the conference is now accepting submissions.
ICES ASC is a cornerstone for the global marine science community, providing a platform for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to share cutting-edge findings and innovative ideas. This year's conference features 18 theme sessions and 5 network sessions that explore critical topics such as ecosystem-based management and biodiversity conservation, impacts of climate change on marine systems, fisheries science and sustainable practices, and advances in marine technology and data-driven solutions.
Participants will have the opportunity to present their research and engage with the marine science community to address some of the most pressing challenges facing our oceans.
Key dates for the submission process are:
- Submission Deadline: 17 March 2025
- Notification of Acceptance: 30 April 2025
Researchers at all career stages are encouraged to submit abstracts. The conference emphasizes early career scientists' participation, inclusion, and networking, ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants.
