This science-policy workshop aims to:
- identify sources of risks to delivering SDG14 targets
- identify risks of not achieving goals in the whole ecosystem context
- assess worst case impact and probability of each risk
- assess reduction of impact with regulation and legislation
- assess acceptability of net risks
- identify national regulations that need to be amended to achieve SDG14 targets
- recommend science-based solutions (controls, regulations, protocols) to reduce unacceptable risks to acceptable, towards national implementation strategies
- publish recommendations
This is the first workshop organized by ICES in collaboration with the UNECE regarding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
