The aim of the workshop is to identify and recommend steps towards integrated modelling frameworks suitable to understand the environmental impact of Offshore Renewable Energy and to guide regulatory contexts in that regard. The workshop will:
- Analyse and completing a structured review of scientific literature describing the current status of modelling efforts dedicated to process-based understanding of offshore renewable energy (ORE) environmental impacts.
- Assess the suitability of state-of-the art modelling approach to represent ORE environmental impacts and highlight critical knowledge or capacity gaps.
- Assess the adequation of current monitoring programs to support integrated model applications.
- Propose a roadmap for advancing integrated model capabilities towards regulatory and decision-making contexts for offshore renewable energy, including their relevance to integrate socio-economic models into ecosystem-based assessments in support of the ICES FEISA EBM framework.
The meeting is going to be held in-person with a limited number of online sessions. Participation in the workshop is at own expense.
Registration for the workshop is closed.
If the workshop is oversubscribed, ICES reserves the right, in consultation with the workshop chairs, to select the final workshop participants based on their expertise and to ensure an equitable makeup of participants at the workshop.
