Published: 31 October 2016

Participants include Advisory Councils (ACs), fishing industry representatives, environmental NGOs, and other organizations and individuals who hold an official observer status with ICES.

The purpose of this meeting, known as MIACO, is to strengthen the stakeholder cooperation.  It provides the opportunity to communicate about the advisory process, obtain feedback from the participants, and stay updated in recent progress within ICES.

Advisory process meetings are open to observers from governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organizations and individuals, after application for observer status has been approved by ICES.  Currently there are over 40 institutions with observer status.
