Lotte comes to the Secretariat from DTU Aqua, where she has most recently been working as a Research Coordinator in the Section for Marine Living Resources. She is a known member of the ICES community and is very familiar with the ICES advisory and data collection processes. She has been involved with various advisory expert groups and workshops since 2000 and is the current Chair of Working Group on Biological Parameters (WGBIOP).
What are you expecting from your new position?
This position will enable me to keep my advisory and management activities connected to the most recent research within the relevant fields. I think the advisory support team in the Secretariat is highly skilled in doing exactly this: using the best available science and knowledge in an operational advice context. I am really looking forward to developing this further with the team.
I think that an important part of the job is also to make sure that research does not remain in the scientific world alone but is put to use in management.
What are you looking forward to most?
Having worked for several years with advice I'm looking forward to being in the middle of what I consider the key organization in terms of development of operational integrated advice in an ecosystem management perspective.
What greetings do you have for the ICES community?
Through the visits I've made to the ICES Secretariat, I have always felt very welcome, and the working environment there appears to be warm, friendly, and efficient. I'm looking very much forward to being an integral part of this.
