ICES invites observers to the advisory process

Annual meeting between ICES, Advisory Councils, and official observers (MIACO) will take place in Copenhagen 18–19 January 2018.
Published: 14 November 2017

Participants of the MIACO meeting include Advisory Councils (ACs), fishing industry representatives, environmental NGOs, and other organizations and individuals holding official observer status with ICES.

The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen stakeholder cooperation. It provides ICES with the opportunity to communicate about its advisory process and obtain feedback from the participants. Observers, on the other hand, will stay updated on recent progress within the organization.

ICES meetings are open to observers from governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organizations and individuals, upon approval of an application for observer status. Currently there are over 40 institutions with observer status.
