Submissions can be made using the online form and a theme session example is available to help structure your proposal
(see links in right-hand panel).
Theme session proposers are encouraged to demonstrate that their objectives address ICES science priorities as expressed in the ICES Science Plan. It is also useful for applicants to link their proposals to one of the ICES Science Committee Steering Groups (SSGs) or the ICES Advisory Committee.
For the ASC 2014 theme sessions focused on the dynamics of top predators, ecology of sensitive ecosystems, bioinvasions, renewable energy, integrated ecosystem assessment, integrated monitoring programmes, and socio-economics of the marine environment are particularly encouraged.
The deadline for submitting theme session proposals for the ASC 2014 is Friday, 30 August 2013.
Theme session proposals resulting from meetings or consultations held during the 2013 ASC will also be considered provided they are submitted by midday on Wednesday, 25 September 2013. Unsuccessful proposals submitted in 2012 will not be considered unless they are resubmitted using the online form for theme session proposals. The ICES Science Committee will select up to 18 theme sessions for the ASC 2014.
