13–17 May 2024
Venue: Cestas, France

The Workshop for the reconstruction of eel landings statistics (WKLANDEEL) will work to:

Review methods used to reconstruct eel catch/landings data;

Review past and existing eel fisheries and data on eel catch/landings statistics, focusing primarily on ICES and FAO reports (including WGEEL reports), and international research reports;

Identify missing information and, if necessary, design a specific data call to collect additional information required for the reconstruction model; and

Develop methods and reconstruct landings statistics as far back in time as possible to inform on their potential use in the stock assessment and propose any means to improve the model and future data collection.

This workshop is open to participation, if you are interested in attending this workshop, please register your interest by 29 April by sending a message to Samuel Noringriis at ICES Secretariat. It would greatly assist with the planning of the workshop if when you register you could also include a brief overview of what you are most interested in contributing/your primary expertise in relation to the workshop.

Note: If the workshop is oversubscribed, ICES reserves the right, in consultation with the workshop chairs, to select the final workshop participants based on their expertise and geographical distribution.
