Here you can access data portals for impulsive noise (shortlived events of high energy sound such as pile driving and underwater explosions), and continuous noise (lower energy sound of a longer duration, such as shipping traffic).
These portals assemble data supplied by contracting parties to OSPAR (North East Atlantic) and HELCOM (Baltic Sea).
These data support OSPAR and HELCOM regional assessments through indicators of pressure on the marine environment, and support a regional approach to MSFD descriptor 11 (energy including underwater noise).
