ASC 2013 Call for Papers

In preparation for ICES Annual Science Conference (ASC) 2013, to be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, potential participants in this year’s event can now submit abstracts from their scientific documents on the back of the publication of 2013’s Call for Papers.
Published: 20 February 2013

Although actual registration for the conference doesn’t open until March, authors are being prompted to put forward their contributions, both for paper (oral) and poster presentations, between now and deadline closure on 19 April – and can do so via a link on this page. In addition to requesting authors from the wider scientific community, the call for students and post-doctorates to apply to give presentations is as strong as ever and is indeed one of the central tenets of the ASC.

Each submitted abstract will be assessed by its technical worth and presentation as well as its relevance to the theme session under which it is entered. There are 18 such theme sessions covering a number of topics, and details, along with the session conveners and related PDF documents, can be accessed here. Successful applicants will be notified by email by the end of May.

ASC 2013 runs from 23 – 27 September at the Harpa concert hall and conference centre on the Reykjavik waterfront and will see 600-700 scientists, stakeholders, and students from around the world congregate to exhibit and deliberate over new aspects of marine science, which this year will fall under one of the five umbrella topics: implementation of the ecosystem approach, climate and climate change, fisheries management, multiple impacts, and ecological aspects.
