dataXplorer brings together hundreds of millions of measurements from surveys, monitoring programmes, and research cruises. The platform provides access to a wide range of marine data, including water temperature and salinity, plankton, fish stocks, eggs and larvae, contaminants, underwater noise, and biodiversity observations.
Designed to support the curation, discovery, and access of heterogeneous marine datasets, dataXplorer integrates fisheries surveys, oceanographic observations, contaminants, acoustics, and biodiversity data within a single platform. Rather than enforcing a single harmonized data model, dataXplorer relies on shared spatial and temporal descriptors, together with machine-readable schemas, allowing datasets to remain autonomous while supporting unified discovery and exploration services.
dataXplorer supports both public and restricted datasets. Authorized users can access and download restricted data according to their assigned permissions. Users without access to restricted datasets can still discover these datasets; however, any downloaded files will contain only aggregated or publicly accessible information.
