Vacancies for Series editors

Do you have editorial experience in the field of marine science? ICES is looking for series editors for three of our in-house publications.
Published: 15 September 2017
ICES currently seeks three Series Editors for part-time work with the following in-house publications:

Cooperative Research Reports (CRRs)

Cooperative Research Reports (CRRs) cover a wide variety of fields of interest to the marine research community and are an outlet for ICES expert groups and ad-hoc groups to present syntheses of their work. All reports are open access and reviewed by both a specialist in the relevant field and the series editor. CRRs keep readers up to date and informed about ongoing, significant science. The accessible format allows for summaries of complex analyses or survey outputs.  Some reports, such as the ICES Report on Ocean Climate and the Zooplankton Status Report, are published on a multiannual basis, while others examine topics ranging from integrated ecosystem monitoring to acoustic seabed classification.

Techniques in Marine Environmental Sciences (TIMES)

This series presents detailed descriptions of methods and procedures relating to chemical and biological measurements in the marine environment.  Most of the techniques described are selected for documentation based on performance in ICES or other international intercalibration exercises. The series, which is open access and peer reviewed, is for use at the laboratory bench, in the field, or on research vessels.

Identification Leaflets

Series of leaflets aiding in the identification of various marine species and diseases. The latest leaflet series is dedicated to diseases and parasites of fish and shellfish. It provides diagnostic aids for identifying the most important diseases and parasites of fish and shellfish in the North Atlantic and adjacent seas.

For all in-house publications, the ICES Editor and Secretariat provide assistance and work closely with the Series Editors in reviewing and finalizing the publications.

Series editors are expected to review drafts within agreed upon timeframes, providing authors with comments and questions that they should address.  Furthermore, Series Editors provide an annual report on their finalized publications and review proposals for new publications.
