ICES Series Editor vacancy

We are seeking a Series Editor for part-time work with ICES Techniques in Marine Environmental Sciences (TIMES).

​​​​​​​​​TIMES presents detailed descriptions of methods and procedures relating to chemical and biological measurements in the marine environment. Most of the techniques described are selected for documentation based on performance in ICES or other international intercalibration exercises. The series, which is open access and peer reviewed, is for use at the laboratory bench, in the field, or on research vessels.

For all in-house publications, the ICES Editor and Secretariat provide assistance and work closely together with the series editors in reviewing and finalizing publications.

Qualifications and experience

For this position we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • a relevant scholarly record
  • editorial and production experience in the field of marine science
  • excellent English language skills
  • the ability to dedicate the necessary time

Terms of appointment

The period for appointment is three years, with the opportunity for extension. This is a part-time employment, with working hours varying according to the number of publications released each year.

Series editors work as external consultants and are not considered employed members of ICES Secretariat staff. Honoraria for the editors correspond to the expected workload and are fixed at the annual rate of 10,000 Danish kroner.
