ICES has an annual revenue of approximately DKK 50 million, from three main financial incomes; annual contributions by our 20 member countries, payments by scientific advice requesters, and project participation. To ensure proper financial handling, well-documented accounting processes are required.
Besides you, our finance team consists of another Finance Officer, and is led by the Head of Finance and Administration.
Expected qualifications and competencies
The appointment will be full-time (38 hours per week including lunch breaks), for an initial four-year contract period, with the possibility of renewal in four-year increments. The individual selected for this position should start as soon as possible.
ICES Secretariat staff enjoy privileges and immunities pursuant to the Host Agreement between the Government of Denmark and ICES. The salaries of ICES staff are exempt from Danish income tax and the salary for this role is at the “C6" grade. Please note that this is a local recruitment and does not cover travel and repatriation expenses.
Furthermore, a tax-free pension scheme is available, to which both the employee and ICES contribute. ICES Staff Rules set out the conditions and principles of employment and the responsibilities of the staff of the Secretariat.
