The Advisory Department comprises 15 staff members who support the delivery of advisory products from single fish stocks to multi-species and mixed fisheries advice. As an Assisting Secretary, you will work with and support highly skilled professionals both from the Secretariat and wider ICES community in order to fulfil the requests for scientific advisory services provided by ICES.

The appointment will be full-time, for a four-year contract period starting 1 July 2017.
ICES Secretariat staff enjoy privileges and immunities pursuant to the Host Agreement between the Government of Denmark and ICES. The salaries of ICES staff are exempt from Danish income tax and are based on, but not identical to, UN grade scales. A pension scheme is available. The ICES Staff Rules set out the conditions and principles of employment and the responsibilities of the staff of the ICES Secretariat.
