The past decade has seen significant advances in the development and compilation of indicators for marine ecosystems. The uptake and use of these indicators, however, remains a challenge. A key challenge has been to delineate thresholds in indicators from which management decisions can be made.
This session seeks to highlight two things related to marine ecosystem indicators:
This session will not accept a list, catalogue or description of ecosystem indicators or indicator reporting, nor will it seek to highlight indicator selection processes. The main outcome is to identify lessons learned in the actual, practical use of ecosystem indicators to inform management decisions.
