Call for papers

Submissions deadline has now passed. Successful authors will be informed of their acceptance by the end of May, at which time the application for early career scientist travel funds will open.

After you have submitted your abstract

  • Each submission is evaluated according to its relevance to the theme session, technical quality, and presentation
  • ICES Secretariat and the theme session conveners will ​correspond with the contact author
  • Acceptance of abstracts is communicated by the end of May, together with guidelines for authors
  • Students and post-docs are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts
  • At least one author of each accepted paper/poster must register by 1 July 2016, thereby committing themselves to presenting their work at the conference  

Travel funds for early career scientists

We encourage early career scientists to participate in the ASC and travel funds are available. To be eligible, the applicant must meet these requirements:

  • 35 years of age or younger 
    PhD completed in the last 5 years
  • nationality and affiliation in an ICES member country
  • abstract accepted and registration for ASC completed

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • originality of work (as shown in abstract)
  • significance for one of the theme sessions 

Online application for travel funds will open after successful contributors have been informed. The full accepted abstract, a CV, and a brief motivation letter is required.
