ICES Annual Science Conference is a forum for an international community of marine scientists, professionals, and students to share their work in theme-based series of oral and poster presentations. Each year, the conference is hosted by one of our 20 member countries.

The 2014 conference will include talks by three invited keynote speakers, and oral and poster presentations selected on the basis of submitted abstracts.


The Programme will address a variety of topics:

Jellyfish, MPA’s, Integrated Ecosystem Assessments, bioarchives, genomics, the Arctic, stock assessments, Harmful algal blooms, biofouling, top predators, size in the oceans, ecosystem services, CFP and MSFD, cephalopod fisheries, ocean circulation, and diadromous fish.

Who should attend

The conference is open to all interested scientists, policy- and decision-makers concerned with environment, those who work with fisheries and management of marine ecosystems, stakeholders,  representatives from fisheries organizations, industry, etc. Students are encouraged to participate.
