Traning in ICES


Welcome to the ICES Training Programme.

To help build capacity in ICES and especially to support the scientists involved in the advisory process, ICES offers training courses by high- profile scientists and instructors.

 

 

ICES training courses:

  • Introduction to Bayesian Inference in Fishery Science: 11-15 June 2012 at the ICES HQ in Copenhagen. Read more. Registration deadline 27 April 2012

  • Analysing and visualization of VMS and EU logbook data using the VMStools  R package: 25-29 June 2012 at the ICES HQ in Copenhagen. Read more. Registration deadline 1 May 2012
  • Stock assessment introduction:  9-13 July 2012 at the ICES HQ in Copenhagen. Read more. Registration deadline 1 May 2012
  • Opening the box: Stock Assessment and Fisheries advice for stakeholders, NGOs and policy makers: 9-11 October 2012 at the ICES HQ in Copenhagen. Read more. Registration deadline 25 August 2012
  • Stock assessment advanced: 15-19 October 2012 at the ICES HQ in Copenhagen. Read more. Registration deadline 17 August 2012.  [Although some overlap with the stock assessment introductory course, the advanced course has two main advancements: 1) the emphasis on uncertainty in parameter estimates and presentation of uncertainty, and 2) more extensive exercises in programming in R and ADMB]
