ASC in Maastricht

The 2006 ASC was held at
the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC) in the Netherlands from 19–23 September. The Dutch hosts provided good conference facilities for 657 participants from 34 countries.

Awards

During the Closing Session of the ASC, the Chair of the Consultative Committee introduced the winners of:
         Best poster
         Best new scientist
         Best paper

275 papers and 90 posters were presented at the conference.

Theme sessions

The 2006 ASC covered such themes as climatic variability, changes in fish migration patterns, species biodiversity, the evolutionary effects of fishing, ecosystem-based assessment, and whether there is more to eels than slime.
