Centenary Dinner

The Centenary dinner, hosted by the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, will be held on Friday 4 October in the restaurant "Base Camp" on Holmen. Participants can sign up and pay for the dinner on the Registration Form. Tickets must be bought before Friday 27 September 2002. The Danish government is subsidising the dinner tickets, which will thus cost only DKK 250/EURO 34 per person. The tickets will be handed out at the Registration Desk in DGI-byen together with your nametag and welcome kit.

The restaurant "Base Camp" is situated in a former sea-artillery workshop at the artificially constructed island called "Holmen". For more than 300 years "Holmen" was the main Danish naval base. In early 1990, most of the naval units and installations were relocated to other places in Denmark. The building of "Base Camp" was used for maintenance and repairing the canons of the naval fleet. In 1997 "Base Camp" opened as a restaurant - but with facilities reaching much further. The 1300 square meter big building with 8 meters to the ceiling provides endless possibilities for all kinds of events. Furthermore the house functions as a variable forum for culture, art, and music.

The event will be from 18.30 hrs to 02.00 hrs. It will start with an apéritif at 18.30, followed by a three-course dinner which will start at 19.00 hrs. There will be music and entertainment during the dinner, and a disco and a cash bar after the dinner.

There will be bus transportation from DGI-byen to Base Camp on Holmen and back to DGI-byen during the evening.
