Registration
Participants are requested to register
as soon as possible using the attached registration form.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is DKK 750. After 31 August 2001 (post-marked), and at the Conference venue, the fee will be DKK 1,125 for everybody (including students).
Payment of the Conference
Fee covers:
· attendance to all ASC Sessions (except where noted),
· Conference Registration Kit, Conference Handbook including Abstract Volume,
·
morning and afternoon
tea/coffee, and the opening night reception.
Reduced Registration Fees
Delegates, Members of the Bureau, Science Committees
and Advisory Committees are permitted to register at the special rate which is
DKK 375. ASC Officials and Theme Session Conveners are not required to pay a fee.
Full-time graduate students may register at the
special rate of DKK 375 if the Registration Form is overstamped with the
official stamp of a relevant educational establishment and is counter-signed by
their Tutor/ Professor.
Method of Payment
All payments should be made in Danish Kroner (DKK)
only and should be free of bank charges to the receiver. Payment should be made

Requests for refund of ICES Annual Science Conference
registration fees must be made in writing to the ICES Secretariat. A
non-refundable DKK 150 processing fee will be retained by ICES.
Reception
Participants will be invited to a reception at Oslo City Hall hosted by the City and Mayor of Oslo on the evening of Wednesday 26 September 2001.
Conference Dinner
The Grand Conference Dinner will be held on Friday 28 September in Restaurant Najaden at the Oslo Maritime Museum on the shores of the Oslo Fjord.

Letter of Invitation
ICES will be pleased to send a letter
of invitation on request, on the understanding that such an invitation is
intended to help potential participants raise travel funds, or obtain a visa.
It is not a commitment on the part of the conference to provide financial

The airport bus takes approximately 45 minutes and stops at the entrance of the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel (Cost approx. NOK 65). You can also use the airport train to the station “Nationalteateret” (300 m from the Congress Venue). Taxi fare from the airport to downtown Oslo is about NOK 600.
No visas are needed for delegates from Western Europe, Japan or North America. Please check at your nearest Norwegian embassy or consulate.
Temperatures in Oslo in September average 8°C-14°C. Dress for social functions will be informal.

On-line registration:
“Highlights of Oslo” City sightseeing through the central part of Oslo
and visit to Bygdøy peninsula with the 1000 year old viking ships and the
Kon-Tiki Museum. The tour will also include a visit to the sculpture park of
the famous sculptor Gustav Vigeland and a visit to Holmenkollen with its world
famous ski-jump and panoramic view of the city.
Norway’s largest collection of Norwegian and international art up to 1945. Norwegian art history is displayed with an emphasis on the major works from the National Romatic period. One room is devoted to Edvard Munch’s work – among others “Skrik” (The Scream).
