The Professional Officer will assist with the strengthening of the technical and scientific input to ICES work, including the development of new products and deliverables.
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills related to quantitative fish stocks assessment methods and fisheries management strategies evaluations, as well as an understanding of underlying data needs and the integration of ecosystem and environmental drivers.
This will support the implementation of the ICES Strategic Plan, 2014–2018 and foster the efficient use of resources and quality assurance.
The position will be filled by a scientist with extensive work experience in quantitative fish stock assessment, a strong fisheries background, or related environmental sciences, as well as possesing the following:
The post is full time. The salary is based on but not identical to that of the United Nations P2 grade. It has annual seniority increases and is exempt from Danish income tax. A pension scheme is available. The post duration is four years with the possibility for a mutually agreed extension. The start date is expected to be no later than 4 January 2016.
