Data reported using ERF version 2.2 for contaminant and fish disease data can be screened using "Screen.exe". Copy the zipped SCREEN package to C:\ICES\screen and unzip the program. The program runs in DOS. The SCREEN program and a number of valid code lists, "v*.lis" files, will be extracted. See the user's guide at http://www.ices.dk/env/programs/screen/screen_doc.pdf for the installing and use of SCREEN. Please note the first line in a data file: 00 RF2.2 SV2.23 LR75 where SV# refers to the program version, and LR# refers to the valid code list release version Please use the following file name format for a data submission: RLABO_Year_Matrix.Country (for example, MNHS99cs.sw). Running the SCREEN program produces 3 output files: a report, warning and error file: "filename".rep, "filename.wrn, "filename".err. Check these files and correct the data accordingly. Tips for using the SCREEN program There are a number of options to be used when running SCREEN: C:\screen>screen [options] [options] -Zh gives a list of all options -i gives a summary of file creation/revisions -DE inactivates error number nnn -e1500 stops the program after 1500 errors Screen is no longer updated since ERF3.2 allows parameters with a length larger than allowed in ERF2.2. SCREEN will eventually stop working but until then it can still be used to prepare the file for conversion to ERF3.2.
