Fisheries Assessment Software
ADAPT A combination of traditional VPA and statistical procedures to estimate model parameters from tuning data
AMCI A very flexible assessment model combining information from various sources. Version AMCI24: Area disaggregated
aspic382 A Stock-Production Model Incorporating Covariates
CSA

Catch-Survey Analysis (CSA) is an assessment method that aims at estimating absolute stock abundance given a time series of catches and of relative abundance indices, typically from research surveys, by filtering measurement error in the latter through a simple two-stage population dynamics model known in the literature as the Collie-Sissenwine (1983) model.

FISHLAB A set of fisheries tools in the form of Excel add-ins and functions as well as routines that can be called from Visual Basic. Standard assessment methods such as XSA and the calculation of reference points are provided as well as routines to allow the evaluation of management under uncertainty
ICA A statistical alternative to VPA
ISVPA A separable VPA type model designed to specifically assess stocks where only catch at age data are available, or other data are considered to be too noisy
mfdp A multi-fleet deterministic short-term projection program
mfypr A multi-fleet yield-per-recruit long-term projection program
MLA Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen. Programs to do medium-term projections
MSFPY A multi-fleet deterministic short-term and long-term projection program
MTAC Takes the single-species advice for each species in the fishery as a starting point, then attempts to resolve these into consistent catch or effort advice using fleet-disaggregated catch-forecasts in combination with explicitly stated management priorities for each stock
Paplot A program to make ACFM standard Precautionary Approach plots
Pasoft Precautionary Approach software which can calculate various biological reference points
RCT3 A type of regression analysis which relates survey data to stock abundance
TASACS

A toolbox of programs to perform an analytic assessment of a fish stock. The assessment programs are integrated in a working environment for organizing the work and for presentation and book-keeping of the results

VPA Virtual Populatin Analysis. The Lowestoft suite of VPA programs, like XSA and Seperable VPA

ICES Oceanographic Data Management Software
rosearch.zip Software for extracting Cruise Summary Reports - ROSCOP (Windows 95® or later)
rosearch.exe As above, but executable only (DIY installation) (Windows 95® or later)
roswin.zip Software for preparing Cruise Summary Reports for submission to ICES - ROSCOP (Windows 95® or later)
ODB1 Software used in ICES Secretariat to manage ICES Oceanographic Data Bank (Windows 95® or later)
icescsv.exe ICES to CSV Format Converter (part of ODB1) - executable only
ocean_pc.zip IOC Ocean_PC Dos oceanographic data management software - Installation required. (basically DOS version of ODB1)
opcdoc.pdf IOC documentation describing above IOC software
WOD01-IC This DOS program converts the data in the WDCA's Ocean Climate Laboratory ASCII format on the World Ocean Database CD-ROM collection to ICES format which then can be further processed using the ODB1 data management suite available above. Download the zip file and unzip the two files (wod01-ic.exe and WOD1SHIP.DAT) into the same directory.
