ABOUT THIS WEB PAGE THIS WEB PAGE PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR
COMMENT AND FEEDBACK ON, AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF, THE ICES ZOOPLANKTON
METHODOLOGY MANUAL. The ICES Zooplankton Methodology Manual was produced by the ICES Working Group on Zooplankton Ecology (WGZE) with the objective of providing an updated review of basic
methodology used in studies of zooplankton. This exercise resulted in a >
600 pp book published by Academic
press.
The background to the book has been described by
Roger Harris in an article in the ICES Newsletter.
The WGZE has now decided to complement the book with a web page
where the users can ask for further details of methods from the authors, find
the most recent corrections and updates to the chapters, as well as to make
comments on the protocols and propose new ones for recently developed
techniques. For each Chapter you will find a section with the Contents, a
section for QUESTIONS, a section of COMMENTS AND CORRECTIONS and a section of
NEW PROTOCOLS. You can send your questions, comments and new protocols by
e.mail to Xabier Irigoien, xi@mail.soc.soton.ac.uk Please include your name, professional situation and working
institution in your message. If the question or protocol is considered of
wider interest or particularly relevant it will posted on this web page for
general information. We cannot assure that all questions will be answered or
all protocols posted, but at least we will try our best to answer all the
questions related to the contents of the chapters. Please make your contribution as specific as possible, and
clearly identify which Chapter, section, and ideally page number it refers
to. The ICES WGZE meets once a year, and it is likely that, if this
web-site proves useful and active, there will be a brief report each year to
the WGZE on “Further development of the Zooplankton Methodology Manual”. We look forward to receiving questions, comments and
corrections, and particularly new protocols. |
