The Committee's area of responsibility is physical, chemical, and pelagic biological oceanography, especially with regard to the processes relevant to living marine resources and environmental quality. Included are such issues as impacts of climate variability, physical, chemical and biological fluxes in coastal areas, shelf seas and the open ocean.
