October 2002, ICES celebrates its anniversary of 100 years in Copenhagen. For
the last century, ICES has been the organisation coordinating and promoting marine
research in the North Atlantic Ocean. The celebrations will take place during
our Annual Science Conference, which will

the world. There will be a special Centenary Day (4 October 2002) which will include
talks about ICES past, present and future along with a lecture by Dr Robert T.
Watson, former Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The title of his lecture is "Climate Change - Time for Action". Copenhagen

of the "Copenhagen Declaration" where invited officials from the member

Other
