What is your main reason for attending ASC?
Sara Hughes

Sara Hughes, Marine Scotland, UK

I’m here to make people aware of the ICES Report on Ocean Climate and give a presentation in Theme Session D on comparison of in situ time-series of temperature with gridded sea surface temperature datasets in the North Atlantic. I also really enjoy going to the theme sessions, especially the ones related to climate issues.
Cristina Pita

Cristina Pita, University of Aberdeen, UK

I’m very interested in the human side of fishery management, and I was quite pleased to see that the conference offers several sessions on this topic this year. My favourite theme session is theme session R on potential changes in the EU common fisheries policy in which I also gave a presentation.

Tae Won Lee

Tae Won Lee, Chungnam National University, Republic of Korea

I work with ecology of eels at the university, and I’m very interested in pragmatic changes in fishery management. This conference is a very good place to learn more about this, because fisheries have quite a high priority at ICES. I particularly liked Theme Session E on climate impacts on marine fish.
