Reception at Berlin’s Town Hall: off to a good start

ASC participants enjoyed a night out at a reception held at Berlin’s Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall) in central Berlin. Entertained by a string quartet, participants met colleagues and celebrated a good start provided by the Conference’s first day. Speeches were delivered by ICES President Joe Horwood and Senator for Department for Urban Development Ingeborg Junge-Reyer. On the bus ride to the event, participants were treated to a tour of central Berlin. The last remaining section of the Berlin Wall, decorated with a wide variety of political icons and symbols, particularly caught participants’ attention.
